Kinja'd!!!3 Kinja'd!!! 20

I hope everyone’s Turkey Day was good. We had 30 people at Friends-giving. I grew up with most of those people and here we are with dogs, and families and even babies. It’s cool to see everyone in the same place. My family thanksgiving went well as there was not a fist fight this year...

When leaving my in-laws on Thanksgiving the Audi said “Transmission malfunction, you can keep driving” Except I couldn’t keep driving because it wouldn’t go into drive or reverse! I pushed the car back into the driveway. Turned it off and on a few times, and the third time it went away...So it’s in for service this morning and I’m rolling a brand new Q5 which is much nicer than the older Q5 AMA.

Other than that I finally finished putting together the super nice router table that my wife got me for our first anniversary. I also built a house for our duck Lawrence. Turns out that Lawrence is a girl as she is now laying gigantic eggs! We’re keeping the name however.

Also one last development. Tripper is going to be a dad!

Happy Monday!

The duck house was built without a plan and just from stuff I had laying around. I was so anti-leaving the house on black Friday, that I cut apart my saw horse to avoid going to home depot for another 2x4:)

Dewalt, makita and Milwaukee

Someone didn’t commit to one brand yet!

That sucks on the S3, but congrats on becoming a dad soon! Don’t forget to work on some excellent puns.

And that shack looks awesome!

Did you try resetting the ecu? Disconnecting the battery? Just wondering. My focus st occasionally will not start. The gauges will dance a bit and then nothing. Disconnect the negative battery terminal and it’s fine. Ford says ?

Lol most of my stuff is Dewalt. The Milwaukee and Makita were freebies from a previous job.

I didn’t have to. The third time I turned off all accessories, turned off the car, got out, and closed the door so that it would shut all the way down. I got back in and it was fine. I took it in anyway because it’s due for the 25k mile service and if there is a problem I’d like to address it now, rather than when I get stuck somewhere.

Congrats on the future baby.

Also, do duck eggs taste any different than chicken eggs?

Thanks! Also great question, I haven’t had one yet. I’ve heard that they do. I’ve also heard that they are great for baking. I will update after I eat one.

Tell your wife you need a pocket joiner to go with that Kreg router table.

I got that first, probably the best wood tool I’ve got!

My wife and I get some from our local farm store. They taste much richer than chicken eggs and make a great lyonnaise salad.

Brand loyalty is for suckers. Buy the best tool for the job. No one brand has that cornered.

Congrats on the baby!

That’s a nice router table. I need to upgrade the one I have at school, it’s a pile of donk.

“I was so anti-leaving the house on black Friday, that I cut apart my saw horse to avoid going to home depot for another 2x4:)“

Smart move, I would’ve done the same thing.

Thanks! I actually have no business with such a nice table, I barely know what I’m doing with that router.

Haha I started looking around the basement for another piece of 2x4 I took one look at my chop saw setup and thought “you die”

I love pocket joints! I used to feel like I was cheating by using them. A few years ago, I finished remodeling the second floor of our house, and my wife and I decided to buy some nice bedroom furniture. I didn’t have time to do it. We bought nice high end solid wood made in America furniture. It’s all put together with pocket screws, almost every joint. Now I don’t feel guilty about it.

You’ll figure it out :)

Yep, sacrifices have to be made!

I was only teasing, cause there are so many Dewalt fanbois it’s not even funny.

personally I have a great big mix of brand names, and cheap ass brand name stuff too.

That’s a fair point!

I just switched my big cordless drill from a very nice high end Makita, that was wildly disappointing, to a very nice high end DeWalt. I’d never buy a DeWalt reciprocating saw, however, because their blade changing mechanism is hot garbage.

Excellent work on all counts, especially the dad bit. Recently a new dad myself.
